grace

blessed be the minutes
blessed the breath
and blessed be our small
frail humaness
myopic  hard of hearing
grant us peace for words unsaid
what we did and left undone
we were only who we were

 

Ellen Steinbaum is the author of two poetry collections, Afterword and Container Gardening. Her work has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize and included in Garrison Keillor’s new anthology,“Good Poems, American
