Danny P. Barbare

Lying in the bed by the window
of the Church
I take my own slant
of the House sun
close my eyes and kneel
at the altar of my heart
and let my stress
be overwhelmed by
the warm glow of
the candle that burns in Christ.

Danny P. Barbare resides in the Upstate of the Carolinas. He works as a custodian at the YMCA in Simpsonville, SC. His poetry has recently appeared in Doxa, The Santa Clara Review, Assisi Online Journal, Clare Literary Journal, and other online and print journals. He lives with his family and small dog Miley.
