Zen-like experience, afternoon light
An underlay of air
glows
as I gaze at the Hudson
through full trees and
flowering plants
of Indian summer.
Silent,
I let it settle
not needing to know
what it foreshadows.
Rose Bernal's work has appeared in various anthologies, such as Brownstone Poets 2009, Stuyvesant Cove Poets' "River Voices", and the Jefferson Market Library Workshop anthologies from 2005 through 2014. She hasread at various poetry readings around the city as feature and open mic participant.
